Marko Stančec
Marko joined POLIS in 2022.
He coordinates the Climate-Neutral Cities Taskforce, focused on the transport component of climate plans and just transition strategies.
Marko is involved in several EU projects focusing on SUMPs, transport data collection and multimodal urban nodes, including MOVE21, SUMP Turkey, SUMP Izmir, MONA, and Eltis, the European Commission's online portal on sustainable urban mobility.
He has extensive experience in city networks and policy in mobility, SUMPs, management of urban space, and non-motorised traffic. Prior to joining POLIS, he was Project Coordinator at CIVINET Slovenia-Croatia-South East Europe (SEE). He was a part of the team developing the first SUMP in Croatia and SUMP consultant in SEE.
Marko holds an M.Sc. in Urban Geography: Spatial planning and Regional development and a B.Sc. Applied Geography
