SUM Final Event at TRA 2026: Shared Mobility - Measuring Impact, Shaping Policy

After three years of implementation across multiple European contexts, SUM reaches its final stage with a focused discussion on what shared mobility actually delivers in practice—and how this translates into policy.

Taking place on 19 May 2026, from 9.30 - 13.00 CET in Room F5, participants will be able to learn about the concrete experience and results from the SUM Living Labs.

Key topics addressed

The session will bring together project partners, cities, transport authorities, and practitioners to present concrete experiences related to services such as bike-sharing, Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS), car sharing, demand-responsive transport (DRT), and mobility hubs.

Daniel Herrera, Parking Working Group Coordinator, will present the policy recommendations and guidelines on shared mobility and SUMPs developed by POLIS within the project. Both documents will soon be published and disseminated through the project and POLIS channels.

Discussions will focus on results and lessons learned from the SUM Living Labs across Europe, as well as insights from the SUM Open Data Platform and its role in monitoring and evaluation. The session will also explore policy recommendations supporting the uptake and scaling of new mobility services, alongside the integration of shared mobility into planning frameworks such as SUMPs.

In addition, speakers will address future exploitation pathways, project continuity beyond the current lifecycle, and concrete next steps for cities and regions. Overall, the discussion aims to contribute to more evidence-based policy approaches grounded in practical implementation and operational experience.
