Post-Lockdown Mobility

The COVID-19 outbreak created huge challenges for cities and regions when it comes to mobility. Local authorities had to react quickly and decisively, often with uncertainty as to the best course of action.

With cities and regions easing confinement measures, many wondered how best to respond to this unprecedented situation and how to adapt mobility to the ‘new normal’.

At POLIS, we wanted to support our members in this challenging time by sharing advice and facilitating the exchange of experience between cities and regions which would be implementing plans for post-lockdown – this brought us to developing the first ever webinar series for POLIS members.

Dedicated to tackling COVID-19 and mobility, ‘Post-Lockdown Mobility’ had the specific focus of planning mobility for – you guessed it – post-lockdown.

We heard from cities across Europe that formulated plans for when lockdown measures were eased, and we also identified potential threats as well as opportunities resulting from this crisis, and explored how we could mitigate negative aspects while building on the good things that were happening from a sustainable mobility perspective.

These webinars took place between April and June 2020, taking regularly place on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 14:00 CET.
