As part of the REFOCUS project's learning exchange & capacity building for policy improvement programme, project advisory partner POLIS, will host 5 expert webinars. Project findings from across the project's partners will be presented and experts from other Interreg Europe projects, and beyond, will provide insights to a wider public audience as part of Interreg Europe's Policy-Learning Platform series of events.

Decision-making in sustainable mobility planning requires cooperation across the governance levels and the involvement of citizens and stakeholders in Sustainable Urban Mobility Planning.  Actively engaging community stakeholders in the co-creation and co-design of innovative mobility solutions brings quality and efficiency to the process of SUMP (and equivalent) development and implementation and improves the coordination among local, regional and national administrations for developing, monitoring and updating SUMPs and other existing policy instruments.

This webinar will focus on Stakeholder engagement and institutional cooperation in sustainable mobility, tackling a) Institutional Set-up and Governance and b) Strengthening stakeholder engagement through local management structures and engagement with the public.

REFOCUS Good practices featured will include:

  1. A citizen-science setting for data collection and decision-making (Sint-Niklaas)
  2. Thessaloniki’s Smart Mobility Living Lab (CERTH)
  3. GEOPOZ 3D model and city database (PIT)
