DISCO

DISCO (Data-driven, Integrated, Syncromodal, Collaborative and Optimised urban freight meta-model for a new generation of urban logistics and planning with data sharing at European Living Labs) is working to support cities in the digital transformation of urban logistics and sustainable planning. By enabling better data sharing and strategic urban space management, the project aims to help accelerate progress towards the goals of EU Mission Cities by 2030.

The DISCO newsletter offers regular updates on project activities, events, and key developments. It also shares insightful content related to urban logistics and planning, including highlights from the project's Living Labs and other relevant initiatives.

JULIA

JULIA (Joint Developments for Urban Resilience Connecting Users to Public Transport through Space Technology) is a Horizon Europe initiative that integrates EU Space services—such as Galileo and Copernicus—into public transport systems to enhance reliability, efficiency, and sustainability. Focusing on buses, trains, and bicycles, JULIA promotes the benefits of the European Global Navigation Satellite System (EGNSS) to decision-makers while advancing digitalisation, smart transit technologies, and user-centric solutions to improve real-time communication and travel convenience. Through ten innovative applications, the project aims to build a smarter, safer, and more sustainable public transport ecosystem across Europe.

LENS

LENS (L-vehicles Emissions and Noise mitigation Solutions) is developing and promoting effective interventions and best practices to reduce noise and pollutant emissions from light vehicles. The project also provides recommendations for future regulations, focusing on real-world emissions performance and the enforcement of anti-tampering measures.

The biannual LENS newsletter offers updates on project activities, events, and developments related to noise and air pollution from motorcycles, mopeds, and other L-vehicles. As the project approaches completion in late 2025, future editions will share key findings, results, and policy recommendations.

PHOEBE:

PHOEBE (Predictive Approaches for Safer Urban Environment) is developing a dynamic, human-centred framework to assess road safety risks for all types of road users in urban settings. By combining traffic simulation, road safety assessment, human behaviour data, mode shift trends, and demand modelling for emerging mobility solutions, PHOEBE aims to deliver a more predictive and integrated approach to urban safety.

Its newsletter, published every six months, explores key road safety challenges and presents innovative solutions from the PHOEBE project and other initiatives within the EU Road Safety Cluster. It also features upcoming events and wider dissemination opportunities for those engaged in improving urban mobility and safety.

REFOCUS

REFOCUS (Regional and Local Mobility Planning Focusing on Inclusive Decision Support Tools) brings together 10 partners from six EU member states and one candidate country to share their experiences with innovative Decision Support Tool (DST) approaches for zero-carbon, sustainable mobility planning.

The biannual REFOCUS newsletter offers valuable updates for anyone interested in best practices in sustainable mobility at both municipal and regional levels. Each edition features highlights from the latest project activities and shared good practices, including in-depth presentations, webinar recordings, and insightful articles.

RESKILLING

RESKILLING (Research initiative for Enhancing and Adapting Workforce SKILLs for Implementing TraNsport Automation with Employment Growth) tackles the transformation of the mobility workforce driven by the rise of CCAM solutions. The project maps jobs affected across the CCAM value chain, forecasts employment impacts, and identifies critical skill gaps. Through close collaboration with stakeholders, RESKILLING is developing new (re)training programmes, innovative business models, and a European observatory focused on CCAM-related jobs and skills—ensuring a fair and inclusive transition for workers and businesses alike.

TIPS4PED

TIPS4PED (Turning cIties Planning (into) actionS for Positive Energy Districts is a Horizon Europe) is a Horizon Europe project focused on developing and testing a Digital Twin-based platform to support four European cities in creating Positive Energy Districts and achieving net-zero emissions. The project also aims to replicate these innovative solutions in cities across Europe.

This project's biannual newsletter keeps you up to date with the latest tools for implementing Positive Energy Districts, insights from its pilot cities, expert interviews, upcoming events, and ways to get involved. URBANE

URBANE (Upscaling Innovative Green Urban Logistics Solutions Through Multi-Actor Collaboration and PI-inspired Last Mile Deliveries) is a Horizon Europe project that supports the transition towards effective, resilient, safe, and sustainable last-mile transport. A key focus of the project is the replication of its results and lessons learned, facilitated by the URBANE Innovation Transferability Platform. This platform includes Digital Twinning Tools, open models, smart contracts powered by blockchain technology, and a data-driven Impact Assessment Radar.
