SOLUTIONSplus met in Madrid for an exciting study tour!

You read it right: SOLUTIONSplus, the project setting up a global platform for shared, public, and commercial e-mobility solutions, met in Madrid for a very anticipated study tour. From charging infrastructure to LEVs regulations and much more, the tour successfully covered and showcased the great work the city has been doing to kick-start the transition toward low-carbon urban mobility!

SOLUTIONSplus did it again! The project, dedicated to driving transformative change in urban mobility through innovative electric solutions, recently hosted an exciting study tour in Madrid. The vibrant Spanish capital, both a SOLUTIONSplus partner and a proud member of POLIS, welcomed participants for an exhilarating three-day journey, uncovering Madrid's remarkable journey towards sustainable mobility and offering participants a deep dive into its pioneering efforts.

Visiting Canalejas 360

Running from March 2020 to December 2023, this project aims to achieve the following objectives:

  • Enhance the knowledge and capacity of authorities, public transport operators, and entrepreneurs in the realm of innovative urban e-mobility solutions.
  • Facilitate the widespread adoption of e-mobility solutions within both the public and private sectors.
  • Foster stronger collaboration and partnerships between businesses and government entities in the field of e-mobility.
  • Make a meaningful contribution to global sustainability and climate targets by assisting cities in the transition to carbon-neutral transport systems.

The study tour, held from September 6th to 8th, featured a diverse range of presentations, covering an extensive spectrum of topics related to urban e-mobility integration in Madrid. Participants were treated to in-depth discussions and insights into various aspects of this transformative field, including policy framework and e-mobility integration, bus retrofitting, and battery swapping systems among many others!

In addition to the presentations, participants had the privilege of embarking on two captivating site visits. They explored the inner workings of the bus depot at Carabanchel, gaining firsthand knowledge of how electric buses are maintained and operated by EMT. Furthermore, the tour included an immersive visit to Canalejas 360.

Last but not least, the study tour in Madrid provided a valuable opportunity for reflection on the project's objectives and the progress made by our partners in the demonstration actions. These efforts extend beyond Madrid and encompass also the following cities, showcasing the global reach and impact of the project's initiatives:
