Meet the 2026 MOBILITYAWARDS finalists!
The finalists for the EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK and MOBILITYACTION Awards have been announced! Both awards celebrate initiatives from 2025 that raised awareness of sustainable urban mobility and mobility management plans, under the theme 'Mobility for Everyone'.
The MOBILITYAWARDS recognise inspiring sustainable urban mobility actions through two dedicated awards:
- The EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK Award recognises the efforts of towns and cities across the EU in promoting sustainable urban mobility during the campaign’s main week of 16-22 September;
- The MOBILITYACTION Award highlights NGOs, businesses, citizen initiatives, and schools that implement outstanding mobility management planning solutions.
Meet this year's finalists
The nominees for the EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK Award 2025 are:
- Innsbruck (Austria). The Austrian city adopted a community-led approach to reclaim street space during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK. The city turned a residential street into a car-free neighbourhood, organising activities that highlighted how people-centered streets can enhance everyday mobility and strengthen community bonds.
- Limassol (Cyprus). With a creative and inclusive approach, Limassol transformed Ankara Street and Castle Square into a 6,000 m² car-free space. The active participation of children, families, people with disabilities, and local associations showcased how mobility can foster connections and social interactions.
- Riga (Latvia). The Latvian capital promoted active and sustainable mobility through a mix of entertaining and educational activities. Riga introduced temporary pedestrian zones and hosted engaging events for schools, families, and residents. Additionally, the implementation of permanent measures, including new bicycle infrastructure and 30 km/h speed zones, reinforced the city’s commitment to creating safer, more people-centered streets.
The nominees for the MOBILITYACTION Award 2025 are:
- Autonomous Province of Bolzano/Bozen - South Tyrol (Italy). The Italian province introduced the Südtirol Alto Adige Guest Pass, which provides unlimited access to public transport in order to discourage the use of private cars. By integrating sustainable mobility into the tourism experience, the initiative also supports both rural and urban mobility, while engaging accommodation providers as partners in promoting car-free travel.
- Eskişehirspor Kulübü (Türkiye). The ‘ETi Yellow Bike Match Day’ initiative encouraged active travel and public transport to attend a football match. By linking sports passion, community pride, and cultural identity with mobility, the campaign has successfully made sustainable travel exciting and socially desirable.
- SiciliaFiera (Italy). As part of the HEYSUN Expo, Mobility Days provided students and the public with hands-on experiences in cycling, micromobility, road safety, and public transport. Over three days, more than 1,000 students explored safe travel options while institutions and local partners shared best practices and discussed strategies for sustainable mobility.
Do not miss the awards ceremony!
The finalists are selected by an independent panel of mobility and transport experts based on their activities organised during the main campaign, or by their MOBILITYACTION activities.
