POLIS-OMF-EIT Workshop: Building civic innovation capacity & emerging city mobility data use cases
Tuesday 10 March 2026, 9:30 - 12:00 CET | RAI Amsterdam, Room G105
Hosted by the POLIS, Open Mobility Foundation, and EIT Urban Mobility, this in-person workshop will explore how data standards can support the management of mobility systems ad public space. The session will focus on practical urban mobility work areas where data standards can provide immediate value for cities and regions, including urban space management, new mobility services, and public transport.
With a collaborative and engaging format, the session will include an opening discussion, a presentation of concrete city use cases, and breakout groups on key work areas. It will feature the participation of mobility experts including Karen Vancluysen (POLIS), Andrew Glass Hastings (OMF), Lucie Kirstein (EIT Urban Mobility), and Gemma Schepers (City of Amsterdam).

Parking x Access x UAM x Urban Freight Meeting: Planning multimodal hubs for multiple and multidimensional use

This joint Working Group meeting of the Parking, Access, Urban Freight Working Groups and the Urban Air Mobility Taskforce explores multimodal hubs implementation and their potential to support the integration of Urban Air Mobility (UAM) with ground transport. Multimodal hubs provide support for both mobility and logistics services, but their governance, implementation, and business model requires collaboration across many stakeholders.
With insights from POLIS members, researchers, and service providers, the meeting will showcase how multimodal hubs can serve as critical nodes in a connected urban mobility system. The speakers list includes Daniel Herrera and Manon Coyne (POLIS), Sába Schramkó (Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences), Willem van Heijningen (City of Amsterdam), Olivier Asselin (Lille Métropole), Eric Frijters (Urban Sky Lab), Denise Braemer (Hamburg Aviation), and Richard Hermans (Province of North Holland).

As unmanned aircraft systems, such as drones, are increasingly used in urban spaces, European cities are looking to monitor and regulate the urban airspace. Organised by POLIS and UIC2, this session brings together experts from both the local and national level to discuss the challenges and potential solutions, featuring insights from Lennart Petersen (Hamburg Agency of Roads, Bridges and Waterways), Jop Spoelstra (Technolution), Joost Vreeken (Royal Netherlands Aerospace Centre), Yannick Vos (LVNL), and Huy Tran (NASA).
