Noord-Holland Province

The region Noord-Holland is generally interested in traffic management solutions regarding multimodal optimization (Mobility and traffic efficiency). Specifically Noord-Holland focuses on the interaction between traffic lights and road users. Noord-Holland is involved in projects around automated cars and connected road users. These projects are executed in real life environment in the area of Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. Noord-Holland is also heavily involved in nationwide standardisation on connected and cooperative traffic lights. In this project Noord-Holland focuses on intersection topology (MAP) and preconditions on traffic safety and efficiency related to SPAT messages. Beside this, Noord-Holland is involved in research topics like traffic prediction, use of FCD for traffic management and the change on control algoritms in traffic lights.
