Catch POLIS at AMWE 2024

As part of AMWE 2024, POLIS will be organising or participating in the following sessions:

1. 'Digging into Data: Managing Multimodal Networks' (20 March 2024, 10:00 - 10:30 CET)

  • During this panel discussion, moderated by Laura Babío, panellists will discuss innovations in the field, including artificial intelligence, autonomous vehicle (AV) integration, multimodal network management, and the European Mobility Data Space.

2. 'Sharing is Caring: Keeping Everyone on Board' (20 March 2024, 10:30 - 11:00 CET)

  • Ivo Cré will moderate a panel discussion highlighting the importance of effectively combining public transport with shared mobility through inclusive shared mobility solutions, accessible and inclusive design of mobility hubs, and innovative schemes to reduce the price of services.

3. 'Elevating Electromobility' (20 March 2024, 11:00 - 11:30 CET)

  • In this panel discussion, moderated by Pedro Gomes, speakers will answer an important question: What does it take to accelerate the deployment of electromobility, remove usage barriers, scale charging infrastructure, enhance user-friendliness, and be inclusive?

4. 'Safe Street Spaces: Ramping up Reallocation' (20 March 2024, 11:30 - 12:00 CET)

  • Andréia Lopes Azevedo will moderate a session on street safety and public space allocation, featuring the PHOEBE and ELABORATOR projects. Panelists will debate which innovative tools can we use to make streets safer and urban space more accessible and inclusive. The focus of the session will be on a critical question: How far are we with the much-needed reallocation of space away from the private car?

5. 'What's good for goods? Managing the last mile' (20 March 2024, 14:30 - 15:00 CET)

  • Raffaele Vergnani will lead a panel discussion focused on the most promising solutions for the transition to zero-carbon city logistics, as well as the prerequisites for successful partnerships between cities and logistics operators.

5. 'Getting to Grips with Air Transport in Cities' (21 March 2024, 10:30 - 11:00 CET)

  • This session, moderated by Manon Coyne, will bring together experts with different perspectives on the topic of urban air transport. Their expertise ranges from urban planning to innovation and technical developments. Among the speakers will be new POLIS member Forum Virium Helsinki, alongside the Val d’Oise-Paris Region Development Agency (CEEVO) and MUSE project partners IGN FI and ONERA, who will share their expert insights on drone noise and population exposure analysis. You can expect a riveting discussion on the present and future of air transport in cities, including the benefits and disadvantages of low-level airspace transport.
