Wilma Slinger (CROW) has received Visio's Inclusion Award

Wilma Slinger, Senior Project Leader at CROW, has been honoured with Visio’s Inclusion Award for her longstanding commitment to creating accessible outdoor environments.

The Inclusion Award is an annual award given by Visio that recognises individuals and organisations that advance a more inclusive society and encourages broader discussion about accessibility. The award is symbolically delivered as a Braille chocolate letter, as a tangible reminder of the impact of accessible design.

Accessibility is a core theme for CROW. Their approach is based on broad prosperity, which includes aspects such as transport inequality, the physical accessibility of public spaces, and transport modes. Through its Accessibility Knowledge Network, CROW continuously advances the design, organisation and management of public spaces based on the principle of ‘design for all’. The Network functions as a central resource on accessibility, gathering recent research, publications, and developments to support more inclusive public environments.

Slinger works on inclusion from various perspectives. Her work dedicates attention to themes such as accessible bicycles, making neighbourhoods safer, sharing knowledge with municipalities, and creating barrier-free public spaces.
