Will the Closing Plenary at the POLIS Conference 2024 'chart or change the course' toward sustainable mobility?
The Annual POLIS Conference 2024—a joint event by POLIS, Baden-Württemberg, the City of Karlsruhe, and Messe Karlsruhe—is only 20 days away! We are excited to share the highly anticipated line-up for our Closing Plenary, 'Charting or Changing the Course?'.
The plenary will open with a speech by Herald Ruijters, Deputy Director General of the European Commission’s DG MOVE, setting the stage for an impactful discussion on how cities and regions can meet Europe’s ambitious mobility deployment goals. With climate targets on the horizon, the following keynote speech and panel will address how Europe can accelerate the transformation to sustainable mobility, while ensuring that commitments remain resilient, even in challenging times.
Meet our Keynote Speaker: Lars Strömgren
Lars Strömgren, Vice-Mayor for Transport and Urban Environment for the City of Stockholm, will deliver the keynote. Stockholm has emerged as a leader in urban sustainability, from pioneering zero-emission zones to advancing clean vehicle technologies and micromobility. We look forward to hearing his insights on Stockholm’s journey to climate neutrality and how the city’s initiatives align with Europe’s green ambitions.
