Region of Crete
The Region of Crete is a regional public authority which is responsible for the design, planning, and implementation of policies at the regional level, focusing on sustainable development and social cohesion. The Region of Crete possesses extensive experience in European Union-funded projects across various sectors, including energy efficiency, low-carbon policies, sustainable tourism, circular economy, environmental sustainability, and innovation. It is organised into 7 General Directorates and 40 Directorates, all working aligned to the primary goals of fostering economic, environmental, social, and cultural sustainability and development in Crete.
The Region of Crete has formed a dedicated working group, responsible for the preparation and completion of the Sustainable Mobility Regional Plan. The group is also responsible for disseminating the Plan to citizens and relevant stakeholders as well as coordinating publicity actions.
