Hamburg
The Ministry of Transport and Mobility Transition (BVM) of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg is responsible for shaping an integrated and future-oriented mobility system for the city. Its work is grounded in comprehensive traffic and infrastructure data, advanced traffic modelling, and cross-modal transport planning. BVM addresses both city-wide and local traffic networks, with a strong focus on digital mobility solutions, strategic traffic management, and mobility planning for major events, while carefully considering environmental and urban planning impacts.
Within POLIS, Hamburg actively contributes to several working groups and task forces, including those focused on parking, clean vehicles and air quality, active travel and health, governance and integration, smart mobility, and climate-neutral city initiatives. Through this engagement, Hamburg supports its sustainable mobility ambitions by exchanging knowledge, collaborating in EU-funded projects, and advancing innovative policy and planning approaches.
