Rethinking Shared Mobility Policies: SMAPE Webinar on Lessons from North Aegean, Mantova, and Ljubljana
Join SMAPE on this webinar where partner regions—North Aegean, Mantova, and Ljubljana—share how they adapt policies to boost shared mobility. Explore lessons on governance, integration, and frameworks for more sustainable transport.
Shared mobility is becoming an essential part of sustainable mobility strategies across Europe. However, its successful implementation depends on strong policy frameworks, local governance, and integration with public transport systems.
On 27 August 2025 (14:00–15:00 CEST), POLIS will host a webinar within the framework of the Interreg Europe project SMAPE – Shared Mobility Action Programme Exchanges. The session will focus on how three regions—North Aegean (Greece), Mantova (Italy), and Ljubljana (Slovenia)—are adapting their mobility policies to support the development of shared mobility, taking into account their diverse geographical, social, and infrastructural contexts.
Goal of the webinar
Participants will gain insights into how regional authorities are revising policy instruments to:
-
Address mobility gaps in rural and island areas;
-
Develop regulatory frameworks and partnerships in smaller urban and peri-urban centres;
-
Embed shared mobility into Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs), with a focus on data integration and stakeholder alignment.
The webinar will provide practical lessons, policy inspiration, and governance approaches that other cities and regions can adapt to their own context.
About SMAPE
SMAPE – Shared Mobility Action Programmes Exchange is an Interreg Europe project bringing together regions, cities, and organisations from across Europe to strengthen policy instruments and regulatory frameworks for shared mobility. Through knowledge exchange, stakeholder engagement, and pilot actions, SMAPE aims to help local and regional authorities reduce emissions, reclaim urban space, and decrease dependency on private cars.
As a partner in the project, POLIS contributes its expertise in transport innovation and facilitates knowledge transfer between regions and cities across Europe as well as communication towards external cities and regions.
