International Cycling Safety Conference 2025
The 13th edition of the International Cycling Safety Conference (ICSC) will be held in Oslo, Norway, from 4 to 6 November 2025.
The ICSC is a leading forum for researchers, practitioners, and experts in the field of cycling safety. Each year, it brings together academics, professionals, and a wide range of stakeholders, providing an ideal platform to share knowledge, exchange experiences, and inspire innovative solutions.
Under the theme ‘Knowledge for Prevention’, this year’s edition will explore how evidence-based insights can be translated into effective policies, infrastructure design, and technological innovations to improve cyclist safety worldwide.
The ICSC 2025 is hosted by the Institute of Transport Economics (TØI), Norway’s leading research institute in transport and mobility and a POLIS member. Beyond the conference, participants will also have the opportunity to experience Oslo—renowned as one of the world’s most cycle-friendly cities, thanks to its extensive cycling infrastructure, ambitious safety initiatives, and commitment to sustainable mobility.
About ICSC 2025
The conference will open on 4 November with two engaging pre-conference workshops:
- Workshop 1: Cycling infrastructure – Perceived and objective safety
- Workshop 2: Getting along on the road – Respect, communication, and safety
The main conference programme will take place on 5 and 6 November, featuring a wide range of engaging sessions alongside guided cycling tours. The rich programme will cover various dimensions of cycling safety, among which:
- Education and cycling safety
- Research methods
- Future trends and cycling safety implications
- Micromobility: emerging trends and safety implications
- Practitioners’ perspectives on cycling safety
