SURF Project capacity building resources are now available

The online resources to accompany the SURF Project's e-course are now available, providing cities and regions with the education and tools they need to effectively develop a ZEZ-F.

SURF Project (Sustainable URban Freight), is a collaboration with Environmental Defense Fund Europe that will guide city planners, business leaders and other freight decision-makers to develop a vision and strategy pathway for sustainable freight.

As part of this, the SURF project develops a series of learning and peer-to-peer activities that are aimed to equip local and national policy makers, practitioners, entrepreneurs, and operators with the skills and knowledge required to develop, implement and operate ZEZ-F

Building upon the How-to Guide on Zero-Emission Zones for Freight, a joint effort of POLIS, Transport Decarbonisation Alliance (TDA) and C40 Cities, the project develops and structures knowledge and awareness. SURF will also build practice and partnerships to launch innovative solutions and measures for the decarbonisation of the freight sector, with a focus on urban logistics.

The objective is to raise awareness and establish long-lasting capabilities for all key stakeholders to successfully support the transition to zero emission deliveries.

E-course on Zero-Emission Zones for freight

The e-course aims to raise skills and knowledge related to the development, implementation, and operation of Zero-Emission Zones for Freight (ZEZ-Fs), thus supporting the transition to zero emission deliveries.

Across a series of online modules, the course provides a solid knowledge basis for any stakeholder involved in urban freight operations, examining:

  1. Why ZEZ for freight? The context
  2. Toward a Successful ZEZ-F: Steps for Action
  3. Keys to success

The resources from this course are now available on the POLIS members area HERE.
