PT Lab - Integration of Public Transport and Shared Mobility: SUM’s Living Labs Interventions
Bringing forward a seamless shared urban mobility landscape is no small feat, but the SUM project is rising to the challenge. In the fourth webinar of the POLIS PT Lab series, the SUM Living Labs in Athens-Penteli, Larnaca, and Krakow share key insights into how they are integrating public transport with shared mobility services for a more efficient and sustainable future.
The latest edition of the POLIS Public Transport Lab webinar series focused on the integration of public transport and shared mobility, highlighting insights and challenges from three different Living Labs of the SUM project: Athens-Penteli (Greece), Larnaca (Cyprus), and Krakow (Poland). Each city shared more about their unique solutions, from mobility hubs and ticketing integration to on-demand transport services, offering real-world insights into how they are making their urban mobility offerings more efficient and more sustainable.
Overall, the webinar highlighted the importance of tailored solutions, technological innovation, and stakeholder collaboration to overcome barriers such as infrastructure limitations and regulatory hurdles. Early results show promising adoption rates, particularly in Krakow, while Athens-Penteli and Larnaca are pioneering strategic approaches to encourage multimodal travel.
