Become an IKIGAI Physical Internet Ambassador!

The newly started project IKIGAI is looking for PI Ambassadors - recognised experts and practitioners who actively promote the Physical Internet (PI) vision and its practical implementation.

To promote cooperation between researchers, industry leaders, and policy-makers and accelerate the adoption of open, interconnected, and sustainable logistics systems, the IKIGAI project is seeking Physical Internet (PI) Ambassadors.

What are the benefits of becoming a PI Ambassador?

Joining the PI Ambassador programme gives you access to a dynamic, forward-looking community of peers, i.e. other PI Ambassadors and the IKIGAI project consortium, composed of top global companies, distinguished researchers and innovators, EU networks such as Smart Freight Centre, Open Logistics Foundation, International Data Space Association, GS1, POLIS and ALICE.

PI Ambassadors are expected to:

  • Share expertise and raise awareness of PI within their networks.
  • Promote standards and protocols supporting the PI Norm.
  • Showcase best practices and implementation cases that accelerate the twin transition (green and digital).
  • Connect and collaborate with peers across Europe and globally.
  • Inspire the next generation of researchers, innovators, and practitioners.

This is an honorary role without financial support, but it carries high visibility and influence across the logistics innovation community.

Who can apply?

Applications are welcome from professionals who have:

  • Recognised achievements in logistics innovation, sustainability, or digitalisation.
  • A proven track record of promoting or implementing Physical Internet concepts and solutions.
  • Been awarded by the International Physical Internet Conference (IPIC) community e.g. PI Pioneers, PI Builders, PI start-ups, PI venture awards or any other PI related award.
  • Influence and credibility within their ecosystem (academia, industry, or public authorities).

Application process

The application process is simple and transparent:

  • Submit the online application form here,
  • Review process:
    • Applications are reviewed periodically during the IKIGAI project
    • The next cutoff date is 7 January 2026,
  • Confirmation and onboarding: selected PI Ambassadors will be formally recognised and invited to take part in the growing PI community.
