2024 Excellence in Road Safety Awards: Applications welcome!

It is time to celebrate transport excellence! That’s right: This November, a few lucky cities, regions, and organisations will be the recipients of the 2024 Excellence in Road Safety Awards, provided by the European Road Safety Charter. Find out more below and submit your application today!

The European Road Safety Charter is now accepting applications for their Excellence in Road Safety Awards 2024. Each year, these awards provide an opportunity to recognise the achievements of Charter members in improving road safety across Europe.

Projects showcased during the awards ceremony will help to share knowledge and inspire the next set of road safety initiatives, allowing the Charter to gain momentum toward their Vision Zero goal of reducing road deaths to almost zero by 2050.

This year’s award winners will be announced at a ceremony on Thursday, 14 November 2024 in Brussels, Belgium (and online).

What might you win?

The categories of the awards differ each year. In 2024, the awards categories are:

  • Best use of technology and innovation to promote road safety
  • Best initiative supporting road safety for vulnerable road users: pedestrians and cyclists
  • Best initiative supporting road safety in motorcycling
  • Best initiative promoting road safety education
  • Urban Road Safety Award (open to municipalities, cities, and regional authorities)

Submitting an application

The deadline for the submissions is Monday, 17 June 2024 (midnight).

Those interested in applying must be members of the Charter. To access the awards application, you must log in to your Charter account. If you would like to participate but are not yet a member, you can join the Charter here.
