Mobility & Digital Twins – Enabling the data-driven City of Tomorrow

Organised jointly by POLIS and NOVA CIDADE Urban Analytics Lab, 'Mobility & Digital Twins – Enabling the data-driven City of Tomorrow' is an event dedicated to the future of data-driven urban mobility. The event will take place on 24-25 September 2026 in Lisbon, Portugal.

Urban Digital Twins are virtual and dynamic replicas of a physical city, mirroring real-world conditions. They hold great potential as they simulate scenarios and optimise urban systems, including transport systems.

The event 'Mobility & Digital Twins – Enabling the data-driven City of Tomorrow', organised by NOVA CIDADE Urban Analytics Lab, an applied research centre and collaborative network, and POLIS, bringing together members of the Smart Mobility & Traffic Systems, Urban Freight, and Safety & Security Working Groups, explores how local and regional governments can unlock the potential of Urban Digital Twins.

Over the two days, participants will learn how Digital Twins can be used to address transport challenges such as using mobility data to make evidence-based decisions, climate adaptation, and working towards zero-emission logistics. The programme foresees an engaging mix of conferences, technical visits, working group meetings, networking opportunities, and a hackathon.
