Side event: Building resilient mobility systems globally with digital public infrastructure

7 May 2026 | 15:30 - 16:30
Hall 4

Organised by WRI India, this official side event examines the potential of Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) for transforming mobility systems. As global mobility faces challenges from decentralisation, digitalisation, and rising travel demand, many cities still prioritise vehicles over people and isolated solutions over connected systems. To address this, a fundamental shift in mobility approaches is needed. DPI can help city authorities and transport agencies coordinate effectively while maintaining autonomy.

The session includes a presentation on DPI for mobility, a demonstration of the Transport Analytics Hub, and a panel discussion with global experts on using data and co-creation to enhance dynamic, evidence-based mobility planning.

Speakers:

  • Karen Vancluysen, POLIS, Secretary-General
  • Angelika Zwicky, KfW. Principal Sector Economist
  • Arturo Ardila Gomez, World Bank, Lead Transport Economist
  • Daniel Bongardt, GIZ, Head (Infrastructure and Mobility)
  • Liz Drake, Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, Lead (Climate and Nature Finance)
  • Roelof Hellemans, MaaS Alliance, Secretary General
