Beyond Declarations: Delivering Urban Mobility Innovation in the Next MFF
Europe's competitiveness depends on its cities and regions. The local and regional levels procure strategic infrastructure and services, create markets for innovation, and consequently contribute to the growth of European industry and small and medium enterprises.
The various EU funding instruments are essential for cities and regions to bring mobility innovation to EU citizens. The current discussions on the FP10 and the European Competitiveness Fund (ECF) will determine the EU's ability to deliver on its strategic objectives of competitiveness, sustainability, and cohesion.
POLIS sees the importance of supporting the entire innovation journey, ensuring that cities and regions can continue to act as testbeds and living labs for market-ready solutions. For this reason, in the policy paper 'Beyond Declarations: Delivering Urban Mobility Innovation in the Next MFF', POLIS identifies opportunities and risks in the next EU budget, and outlines recommendations to ensure the next funding architecture supports mobility innovation where it ultimately needs to deliver: on the ground, in Europe's territories.
