SUGAR

SUGAR (Sustainable Urban Goods logistics Achieved by Regional and local policies) promoted the exchange, discussion and transfer of policy experience, knowledge and good practices through policy and planning in the field of urban freight management, between and among good practice and transfer sites.

SUGAR based its approach on the study of EU good practices for the development of tools to support policy making, including:

  • Training sessions, workshops and joint planning events, in which the administrations will directly benefit from the knowledge gained through their participation, successively utilised in addressing national, regional and municipal policy developments;
  • Development of city logistics publications and training products, which will record the knowledge gained during SUGAR.

The project ran from November 2008 to March 2007, funded by the European INTERREG Europe IV - INTERREG IV - Interregional cooperation across Europe (INTERREG IVC) Program.

Key Document: "SUGAR. Sustainable Urban Goods Logistics Achieved by Regional and Local Policies. City Logistics Best Practices: a Handbook for Authorities."
