EAFO

The goal? To gather and share information on the deployment of alternative fuels infrastructure.

The shift away from conventional fossil-fueled vehicles is increasing rapidly. However, barriers remain to making alternatively fueled vehicles the norm in society, including 'range anxiety' due to perceptions of a lack of fueling or charging stations.

The objective of the portal was to raise awareness among consumers of how easy it is to rely on alternative fuel stations, overcoming the perception that they are hard to find while helping the EU Member States to fully integrate alternative fuels for vehicles in the geographic planning.

EAFO assisted the shift to alternative fuel sources by providing consumers and businesses with clarity and certainty about the availability of fueling and charging stations and helped to raise awareness of the availability and benefits of alternatively fueled vehicles.

EAFO's Knowledge centre, Fuel station map as well as European Alternative fuels, Vehicles and Fleets, and Countries overview are available online.
