POLIS joins MobilityData

POLIS has joined MobilityData, an international non-profit organisation supporting the public transit and shared mobility data industries.

MobilityData's goal is to enhance and broaden data formats, making them easier to use through training, documentation, open-source software, online services, and more. The organisation brings together international stakeholders from both the public and private sectors, including transport agencies, software vendors, mobility app developers, and city representatives.

The focus is on standardising and expanding data formats such as the General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS) and the General Bike Feed Specification (GBFS) for public transport and shared mobility. As an industry facilitator, MobilityData creates opportunities for improved interoperability and supports the rapid transformation of the sector through training and tools.

As the leading network of cities and regions for sustainable urban mobility, POLIS plays a crucial role in shaping the future of multimodal mobility. MobilityData is already a member of our network, and we are excited to now join their international community and contribute to improving transit ecosystems in cities across the globe. We are looking forward to exchanging knowledge and staying updated on the latest developments related to GTFS and GBFS!
