POLIS Annual Conference to be held online

After careful consideration, POLIS has decided to hold its Annual Conference online from 30 November- 3 December 2020. The event, previously due to be held in the Arnhem Nijmegen City Region, will now be held over a virtual platform.

This decision comes in light of recent developments in the global COVID-19 situation and enduring restrictions on physical events. Even though we will not be meeting in Arnhem-Nijmegen, this innovative city-region remains our virtual co-host for the conference

The conference will now be held across 4 days to ensure all delegates and speakers have the opportunity to attend discussions and engage with innovative projects unfolding across the urban mobility sector.

The alternative format will not impact the calibre of the event, which will bring together professionals from public and private organisations across the urban mobility sector. The 2019 Annual Conference was a great success, and this year’s event is set to be equally inspiring- and provocative.

At a time when our cities are experiencing unprecedented challenges being, the conference will explore the obstacles and opportunities which lie ahead. Sessions will feature discussions on co-creation and citizens engagement, active travel at neighbourhood and regional level, and innovation in traffic management, showing many of the projects POLIS has pioneered over the last year.

The draft programme is currently being finalised and will be published soon. Those who submitted an abstract can expect to be contacted shortly.
