Five Polis members guest speakers at first UCI Bike City Forum “Shaping the Future of Active Mobility” in Milan, on 14 November 2018

The event will bring together leading bike and mobility experts, as well as UCI partners, in a drive to further develop cycling in all its forms.

The following key themes will be presented during the Forum:

  • The UCI landscape in cycling promotion
  • Cycling infrastructures - where to start?
  • Exporting cycling expertise - perspectives from Denmark and the Netherlands
  • Promoting public health and physical activity through cycling
  • The role of cycling in sustainable development

Five outstanding Polis members will address the audience:

  • Pascal Smet, the Brussels-Capital Region Minister responsible for mobility and public works, will detail his work - and passion - to transform Brussels into a bike-friendly city, designed around people rather than motorised traffic
  • A representative of City of Milan
  • Brian Deegan, Design Engineer at Urban Movement and Advisor to Greater Manchester Walking & Cycling Commissioner
  • Herbert Tiemens, Senior policy advisor, Province of Utrecht
  • Francesco Iacorossi, Head of projects, Rome Mobility Agency and Co-Chair, ITF Safer Cities Streets Network

The day of knowledge exchange, panel discussions and networking will take place on November 14 at the Milan headquarters of Italian tyre company Pirelli.
