Apply for the Excellence in Road Safety Awards 2022

The European Commission has extended the call for applications for Excellence in Road Safety Awards 2022. You can apply now!

On 17 October 2022, the annual awards in Brussels will recognise achievements towards the common goal of improved road safety across Europe. The projects showcased during the ceremony will help to share knowledge and inspire the next set of road safety initiatives, allowing to build greater momentum towards our Vision Zero goal - reducing road deaths to almost zero by 2050.

The closing date for project applications is Friday 10 June (12:00 CET).

The European Road Safety Charter, led by the European Commission, is the largest civil society platform on road safety. To date, more than 4.000 public and private entities have committed to the Charter and carried out road safety actions and initiatives targeted at their members, employees and the rest of civil society.

Together, members can share their expertise and actions, inspiring and learning from each other.

The awards recognise the incredible achievements of ERSC members towards the common goal of improved road safety across Europe.

For the Awards 2022, the categories are:

  • Safe System approach – best application of the ‘Safe System’ approach
  • Professional Drivers – best initiative focused on professional drivers
  • Technology – best application of technology to road safety
  • Youngsters – best road safety project targeting young people
