Breda University of Applied Sciences

Breda University of Applied Sciences (BUas) is an international higher education institution with about 7,220 students from over 77 countries, situated in the south of the Netherlands. BUas offers professional and academic bachelors and masters programs in the disciplines of Built Environment, Data Science & AI, Logistics, Tourism, Media, and more. Their education has a strong focus on practice-oriented knowledge development in close cooperation with relevant national and international partners and industry stakeholders. Next to its educational activities, BUas is actively involved in international, national and regional research projects.

The BUas Academy for Built Environment and Logistics (ABEL) in particular boasts two excellent academic programmes that fosters unique expertise on integral approaches to liveable cities, combining mobilty, logistics and urban design perspectives all in one.

Through POLIS, BUas has expanded its international network related to the development of knowledge and innovation in mobility, urban logistics and built environment. It has been provided its expertise in a number of different POLIS Working Groups, as well as convening a cross-disciplinary panel of cities, universities and industry stakeholders to discuss the human skills required for a sustainable mobility transition.

The university has also been involved in different EU projects and events, such as the Urban Mobility Days where it showcased its achievements, or the TRACE project, exploring how to increase the use of ICT tracking for cycling and walking in cities.
