In the framework of the Green Week, the South Poland House in Brussels organises a multi-stakeholder Seminar in Brussels, on 15th May 2019: “Towards a Greener Europe - preparation and implementation of effective sustainable mobility plans.

Transport is responsible for almost 25% of greenhouse gas emissions and it constitutes the main cause of air pollution in cities. This half-day Seminar will focus on sustainable mobility strategies, especially regarding the practical aspects of Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs) as one of the possible solutions to overcome this problem. The Seminar will start with a debate on the importance and future of sustainable mobility strategies and plans from the European perspective. Some of the best practices will be presented by the City of Milan and the City of Essen. The second part of the Seminar will focus on the biggest challenges related to the preparation and implementation of SUMPS.

The Seminar will feature experts from DG MOVE, Eurocities and Polis as well as the cities of Milan  (6th SUMP Award Finalist) and Essen (European Green Capital 2017).
