POLIS at the VREF Conference on Urban Freight

The Volvo Research and Educational Foundations (VREF) Conference on Urban Freight will take place on 23-25 March 2021. The title of this year is “Urban freight and liveable cities: Interactions between planning, design and business for scalable innovations”.

The conference will be organised across the three days as an online conference (originally it was planned for October 2020 to take place in Gothenburg, Sweden).

The online format and participants from all over the world make such an event a bit challenging due to different time-zones, but it has been scheduled so everyone can participate in and follow part of the conference, although possibly not all sessions.

The conference will host plenary sessions with keynote speakers from research, industry and city authorities on the first and last day. Speakers include Giacomo Lozzi from POLIS and Ian Wainwright of Future City Logistics. In addition, there will be two plenary sessions held by this year´s collaborative partner ICLEI - Local Governments for Sustainability: one workshop featuring the launch of the EcoLogistics Report 2021 with high-level speakers and one roundtable on improving last-mile deliveries.

There will be break-out sessions with 3-4 tracks in parallel on seven broad themes. Currently, there are approximately 90 confirmed presentations during these sessions. You can see the themes and confirmed speakers on the conference website.

Register for the conference on this link. We encourage early registration. You must be registered to receive the Zoom links for the plenary and parallel sessions. Links will be provided by March 21st.
