POLIS Capacity Lab

Unlocking skills for sustainable urban mobility

The POLIS Capacity Lab is designed to help mobility practitioners, city officials, and regional planners gain the knowledge, tools, and skills they need to implement innovative and sustainable mobility solutions: through peer-to-peer learning, interactive workshops, and structured training formats, our Capacity Lab strengthens technical and strategic capabilities, accelerates the adoption of innovative solutions, and bridges the gap between policy and practice.

Webinars

Learn from the experts, wherever you are.

Our webinar series provide short, focused sessions combining theoretical insights and practical case studies. Each session is delivered by leading experts, practitioners, and researchers. Participants receive summary reports, recordings, and materials to support further learning.

Tutorials

Hands-on guidance for practical skills.

Tutorials are structured online sessions (1–2 hours) that guide participants in using specific tools, methods, or products to solve real urban mobility challenges. Interactive elements such as Q&A and demonstrations help participants immediately apply what they’ve learned.

Training Workshops

Interactive, in-person skill-building.

Workshops are intensive learning experiences (2–4 hours) blending instruction with hands-on exercises, group discussions, and case studies. These sessions are designed to enable participants to apply knowledge directly to their city or region’s mobility challenges.

Training Courses

Deep-dive learning on complex topics.

Courses provide multi-module, in-depth learning on advanced topics, delivered online, in person, or in hybrid formats. Participants gain expert instruction, interactive exercises, and peer feedback, building comprehensive expertise over several hours or days.

Lectures

Interactive, in-person skill-building.

POLIS contributes to external training initiatives, sharing expertise through lectures and collaborative programs. Activities supported by POLIS carry our capacity-building label, ensuring high-quality content and tangible learning outcomes.

Tools

Turning research into practical resources.

Many of our EU-funded projects have produced practical tools to support cities and regions in their mobility transition: here they are to ensure that they are applied effectively in day-to-day operations rather than left on the shelf.
