POLIS-CROW Webinar: Safe and responsible use of AI in road traffic and transport

On 17 November 2026, POLIS and CROW are partnering for a practical webinar dedicated to applying the AI Act in the transport sector.

The European AI Act sets a new framework for developing and using artificial intelligence. For traffic and transport professionals, the practical questions are already emerging: does a particular application qualify as an AI system, could it be considered high-risk, and what steps must organisations take to use it safely and responsibly?

AI is finding its way into traffic and transport, supporting traffic management, road operations, system efficiency, and safety. Turning the Act’s requirements into clear, workable actions is now an important part of introducing and operating these technologies.

CROW and POLIS invite traffic and transport professionals to a practical webinar on applying the AI Act in the sector. The session will cover the Act’s relevance to traffic and transport, the impact of recent AI Omnibus changes, how to assess AI systems and potential high-risk applications, and the responsibilities of providers, deployers and public authorities. It will also explore practical tools to help organisations make these assessments and manage AI safely.

The webinar is aimed at professionals working in traffic management and operations, road infrastructure, transport authorities and operators, ITS and C-ITS, smart mobility, AI development and deployment, procurement, asset maintenance, data governance, privacy, policy and compliance.

At the heart of the discussion is a practical question: how can we use AI safely and responsibly in traffic and transport, and put the AI Act into practice? Join us to explore what this means for your organisation.
