Europe’s transport workforce: Future changes and challenges
As the transport sector crosses a new digital frontier, increased automation and connectivity will continue to make transport safer, more accessible, and more sustainable. At the same time, these changes present a range of challenges for public authorities, especially about retaining talent and jobs for regional growth.
To address this, POLIS joins ERRIN, and several others to co-host a session on the future of jobs and skills for urban mobility. We ask:
- How will automation impact jobs in mobility?
- What will the role of EU legislation be?
- How can public authorities make their voices heard?
POLIS will be joined at the meeting by key partners, including Île-de-France Europe, the Mobility and Innovation Department of the Île-de-France region, SARAGOSSA, the Centre-Val de Loire Region, and Baden-Württemberg.
Speakers at the meeting will include:
- Miriam Koch, Consultant, Ministry of Transport, State of Baden-Württemberg (DE)
- Anne Besnier, Vice-President, Centre-Val de Loire Region (FR)
- Mathieu Cuip, Member, European Committee of the Regions
- Elisabeth Kotthaus, Head of Unit at DG MOVE
- Date: 11 October 2023
- Time: 14.30 - 15.30 CEST
- Location: POLIS Offices, Rue du Trône 98, Brussels 1050, Belgium
