POLIS talks mobility at the European Week of Regions and Cities 2023

Registrations are open for the 21st European Week of Regions and Cities. From 9-12 October, a series of panel discussions, workshops, and interactive events held across Brussels will explore the key issues shaping urban mobility and showcase how Europe’s regions and cities are rising to the challenge.

Celebrating Europe’s cities and regions

Since 2003, this annual four-day event has given Europe’s regions and cities the chance to showcase all that they do for citizens, from creating jobs and growth to implementing European Union cohesion policy. Europe’s transport workforce: Future changes and challenges

As the transport sector crosses a new digital frontier, increased automation and connectivity will continue to make transport safer, more accessible, and more sustainable. At the same time, these changes present a range of challenges for public authorities, especially about retaining talent and jobs for regional growth.

To address this, POLIS joins ERRIN, and several others to co-host a session on the future of jobs and skills for urban mobility. We ask:

• How will automation impact jobs in mobility?
• What will the role of EU legislation be?
• How can public authorities make their voices heard?

POLIS will be joined at the meeting by key partners, including Île-de-France Europe, the Mobility and Innovation Department of the Île-de-France region, SARAGOSSA, the Centre-Val de Loire Region, and Baden-Württemberg.
