1st MAIA Workshop - Connecting air and city grounds

Mark your calendars for 4 December in Brussels, where stakeholders will gather at the POLIS Network offices to explore the future of airport access and passenger mobility during the first MAIA Workshop.

The first MAIA workshop is a stakeholder workshop — participants will dive deep into identifying airport access challenges and the role of mobility innovations in solving them. During this event, case studies will be defined and a dynamic exchange of ideas will be encouraged.

What is MAIA about?

MAIA's vision is one of transformation — within the next 5-10 years, we foresee a seamless integration of Connected and Cooperative Automated Mobility (CCAM) and Urban Air Mobility (UAM) services with airport infrastructure and various access modes. The MAIA approach involves harnessing the power of AI tools and digital twins to anticipate how these innovations will impact airport performance as multimodal hubs. The goal is clear: empower aviation stakeholders to make evidence-based decisions that enhance passenger experiences, increase capacity, and drive us closer to our sustainability objectives. MAIA aims to do this by developing a set of data analytics and modelling tools to support the evidence-based design and implementation of multimodal airport access solutions, with a specific focus on two passenger mobilityMAIA workshop visuals that includes the date and location of the workshop just in the text. innovations: shared autonomous vehicle fleets and unmanned aerial vehicle fleets.

The MAIA tools will monitor and predict passenger behaviour changes brought about by these new mobility options. The project will optimise vehicle dispatching under multimodal disruptions and provide recommendations for vertiport locations. Ultimately, MAIA strives to maximize the contributions of these innovations to the competitiveness and sustainability of the European aviation sector.

This workshop is not exclusive to the MAIA's stakeholder engagement group; the project does indeed extend an invitation to external experts who share their passion for redefining airport access and passenger mobility.

Save the date, and prepare to come along on this journey to reshape the future of airport access. Your insights and contributions will be invaluable in navigating the path forward.
