iCARS

iCARS Network (intelligent Cars Thematic Network) supported the deployment of Transport ICT technologies by exchanging knowledge and experience.

iCARS Network exchanged good practices and developed catalogues of methods of- using latest ITS developments in public procurement- dissemination and awareness activities on ITS developments- impact assessment- arriving at a road method towards energy efficiency . The aim was to reduce the number of deaths on the road and the environmental burden of road transport.

The project was funded by the European Commission's Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme (CIP). The iCARS Network ran from July 2008 to June 2010.
