CVIS
2006 - 2010

CVIS

CVIS (Cooperative Vehicle-infrastructure System) was a project aimed to create a unified technical solution allowing all vehicles and infrastructure elements to communicate with each other in a continuous and transparent way using a variety of media and with enhanced localisation. This enabled a wide range of potential cooperative services to run on an open application framework in the vehicle and roadside equipment.

The objectives of CVIS were to:

  • Create a wireless network between and amongst vehicles and infrastructure
  • Create an open platform for V2V and V2I cooperative services
  • Increase road efficiency and safety through vehicle-infrastructure cooperation.
