POLIS Annual Conference call for speakers now open

The call for speakers for this year's POLIS Annual Conference is now open! We are encouraging applications from across the urban mobility sector by 17 May 2021.

The POLIS conference takes place each year, bringing together cities, regions and urban mobility stakeholders from across Europe, sharing the latest developments in road safety, digital technologies, shared mobility, public transport, active travel and more. Last year’s event, organised for the first time in a digital format, attracted more than 900 participants and from local authorities, transport operators and mobility researchers.

This year’s conference will take place on 1-2 December 2021 in Gothenburg, Sweden. We are welcoming individuals to submit their abstracts for proposed presentations to the conference.

Our parallel sessions will feature a mix of current practice, cutting-edge innovation and ambitious plans from cities and regions, urban transport researchers, and the industry.

We will prioritise contributions that are high on the mobility agenda of cities and regions, and feature in today’s international, European and local debates around urban transport innovation. Priorities include bouncing back from COVID-19, unlocking the value of mobility data, reallocating and dynamically managing urban space and many more.

Over the past few editions of the POLIS Conference, we have been trying to address the gender imbalance in the transport sector by making women more visible and offering them a platform to share their work. We therefore strongly encourage women in the transport sector to respond to our call for speakers.

A full outline of the topics covered by the conference can be found here and in the documents below.
