How walking and cycling reduce congestion in two minutes: watch the new FLOW video!

Safer roads, better public transport, less congestion, cleaner air – can we have it all? Visionary cities invest in cycling and walking today. The video introduces the new tools developed in the project and some results from Dublin and Strasbourg.

“The FLOW project teaches how to measure and model all modes of transport, including cycling and walking. The result? More realistic mobility plans and less congestion!”, the Lord Mayor of Dublin Brendan Carr reported.

By watching this video, cities can be inspired by:

  • The congestion-reducing measures contained in the newly published FLOW Quick Facts available in 7 languages
  • The impact assessment tool which evaluates the impacts of walking and cycling on cities’ streets
  • Real-life planning scenarios using improved transport modelling tools as tested by FLOW partner cities

About FLOW:

FLOW is a CIVITAS Horizon 2020 project, running from May 2015 to April 2018. FLOW has developed a multimodal analysis methodology to assess the impact of walking and cycling measures on transport network performance and congestion. FLOW’s ideas are being tested in its partner cities of Budapest, Dublin, Gdynia, Lisbon, Munich and Sofia.
