Apply for the 8th SUMP Award on Safe Walking and Cycling

In the framework of the EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK, the European Commission presents every year the European SUMP Award to a planning authority which demonstrated excellence in sustainable urban mobility planning.

The aim of the SUMP Award is to encourage the adoption of Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs) by local authorities across Europe and to reward outstanding achievements in each year's thematic priority area.

The 8th SUMP Award focuses on the integration of safe active mobility in sustainable urban mobility planning. This covers the development and promotion of walking and cycling as urban transport modes and the improvement of safety for pedestrians and cyclists.

The application period will close on 31st October 2019.
