Guardian: The traffic data that shows the road into - and out of - COVID-19 lockdown

Urban mobility has undergone a drastic transformation in recent weeks, with travel restrictions in place across much of the world.

Normal patterns of mobility have been disrupted, with commuting and travel into cities massively reduced. After several weeks - in some cases months - of lockdown measures, data is beginning to reveal the changes in urban mobility in cities across the world.

Data is revealing large reductions in travel, particularly at peak times, with clear trends showing this coming into place after lockdown measures came in to place. However, data is also revealing that cities which were the first to feel the effects of COVID-19 are beginning to return to pre-lockdown levels of traffic, raising fears about the impact on cities and mobility.

In this article from the Guardian, data from TomTom from cities across the world is explored in more detail. Please see here.
