CH4LLENGE
2013 - 2016

CH4LLENGE

The goal? To actively facilitate the take-up of Sustainable Urban Mobility Planning (SUMP) in European cities and establish a cross-initiative dialogue on overcoming SUMP challenges.

CH4LLENGE will support 30 European cities at different stages of working with SUMP. The CH4LLENGE consortium will develop “challenge kits” and will set up an e-learning platform. The project developed transferable solutions to the four common challenges faced when developing and implementing Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs):

  • participation of stakeholders
  • institutional cooperation
  • identifying effective measures
  • monitoring and evaluating the plan-making process and its measures

The 9 partner cities represented diverse cultures in sustainable urban mobility planning in Europe. A broad set of activities such as national SUMP challenge seminars, e-learning courses, site visits, manuals, quick facts, and the measure option generator will ensure high visibility of the project.
