POLIS and polisMOBILITY are not the same

We have received several inquiries about us, POLIS network, and our relationship to the trade show polisMOBILITY.

We would like to clarify that POLIS Network and the polisMOBILITY event are completely separate entities and initiatives, and so are their flagship events, the POLIS network’s Annual POLIS Conference and Koelnmesse's polisMOBILITY.

This distinction is important, not only due to the dissimilarity between our mission, activities and functions, but also to avoid further confusion, as both focus on urban mobility in all its dimensions. Furthermore, many stakeholders have wrongly assumed (and still do!) that the well-known and established POLIS Network is behind polisMOBILITY, which is not the case.

POLIS Network is the leading network that brings together cities, regions, as well as research institutes, and transport operators, to address common urban mobility challenges while advocating for greater involvement of local and regional authorities in national and international mobility policy agendas to foster sustainable, innovative, and just urban mobility.

polisMOBILITY is a new trade fair and associated magazine developed by Koelnmesse and the City of Cologne. It largely targets retailers, the automotive industry, and mobility managers. While it has adopted the same name as POLIS Network, they are, as we mentioned above, completely separate initiatives.

The Annual POLIS Conference: our flagship event you can (and will not) miss!

The Annual POLIS Conference 2023 will take place on 29 and 30 November in Leuven, Belgium. Our Conference is Europe’s leading event on sustainable urban mobility in cities and regions; also, it provides an opportunity for cities and regions to show their transport achievements to a large audience of mobility experts, practitioners and decision-makers.
