Polis Member Madrid joins "Women in Transport" Platform

Coherently with the gender strategy and employment policy of the Municipality of Madrid, the city's transport authority ETM has also signed a declaration for equal employment opportunities between men and women in the transport sector.

This commitment is aimed at raising awareness on the issue of gender equality, as well as at promoting an exhange of information, projects and good practices with other institutions and private entities.

Today, only 22% of transport workers in the European Union are women, as highlighted by the European Commission's Directorate General for Mobility and Transport (DG-MOVE). The "Women in Transport" platform has been established to tackle this imbalance.
