Urban Logistics Innovation Day 2024
Urban logistics plays an important role in cities. Urbanisation, business activities and changes in lifestyles have increased demands on urban logistics, resulting in negative impacts, such as pollution and noise, traffic safety issues, congestion etc.
Making urban freight transport more sustainable while ensuring the quality of life of citizens is a challenge for many cities. Business and logistics operators also face challenges to increase efficiency and meet customers’ demands. Innovation plays an important role in decarbonising urban freight transport and enabling sustainable urban logistics.
Following the first edition held on 27 September 2023 as the final event of the EU-funded project LEAD and with more than 100 participants attending from all over Europe, the second edition of the Urban Logistics Innovation Day - co-organized again by POLIS and ALICE - will take place on June 4th 2024 in Brussels, at ACE Events (Avenue d'Auderghem 22, 1040 Bruxelles).
This event is restricted to POLIS and ETP-ALICE members, and it aims to bring forward-think cities and the private sector in the urban logistics sector to:
- Promote the use of innovative technologies (e.g. Physical Internet) to help cities and businesses meet their sustainable goals.
- Discuss new trends and challenges and foster potential opportunities for cooperation.
- Facilitate dialogue between public and private sectors for enabling policy framework toward zero-emission urban freight.
The in-person event will consist of keynote speeches, presentations, penal discussions, group excise and roundtable discussions.
