CLINSH mid-term conference in Brussels

Through real-time measurements the project is demonstrating the effectiveness of emission reducing techniques and alternative fuels on a fleet of more than thirty participating ships. CLINSH is also demonstrating the benefits of onshore power supply. At the mid-term conference, the first results will be shared and the opportunities to 'green' the fleet will be explored.

What we are working on
The inland shipping sector is of great importance for the European economy. It can play an important role in meeting the growing demand for transportation. Moving goods and people by ship helps to reduce road congestion. A typical inland waterways vessel can carry the equivalent load of up to sixty 44 tonne trucks. Compared to road transportation, inland shipping is already more environmentally sustainable. If we want to keep that way, we have to take action now.
