Clean trucking into a greener future: Electrifying EU logistics

During this webinar, Giacomo Lozzi, POLIS urban freight coordinator, will provide a presentation of a guidance document on Zero-emission zones for freight that POLIS has prepared with C40 and TDA.

The webinar will take place on Thursday, 19 November, from 14:00 to 15:30 CET. Register here.

The electrification of urban and regional logistics could significantly cut emissions in the freight sector and accelerate the decarbonisation of road transport. The Regulatory Assistance Project and the International Council on Clean Transportation will provide new insights on the topic and present the findings of their new joint report Electrifying EU city logistics – an analysis of energy demand and charging cost

The report looks at how logistics operators can charge electric trucks most cost effectively at the depot, while also capturing consumer and grid benefits by optimising their charging processes. At this crucial time for the transition to zero-emission of the road freight sector, the report invites national and EU policy-makers to reform electricity markets and the European legislative framework about EV charging under review.

Members of the European Clean Trucking Alliance will also share their experience in electrifying their logistics and engage in a discussion with participants on the challenges and opportunities they are facing.

The webinar will be moderated by Dietmar Oeliger on behalf of the European Clean Trucking Alliance and it will bring together the following speakers:

  • Julia Hildermeier, Regulatory Assistance Project (RAP)
  • Felipe Rodriguez, The International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT)
  • Rob Aarse, Transport and Logistics Netherlands (TLN), Member of the European Clean Trucking Alliance
  • Angelos Tsereklas-Zafeirakis, Ab InBev, Member of the European Clean Trucking Alliance
  • Giacomo Lozzi, POLIS, Member of the European Clean Trucking Alliance

There will be an opportunity for attendees to ask questions to the speakers after their presentations.

Following registration, you will receive a zoom link to join the event the day before the webinar.
