Sustrans resources on COVID-19

POLIS member organisation Sustrans is offering support to local authorities in the United Kingdom to help adapt urban mobility during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Many cities are aiming to adapt urban mobility in light of reduced availability and demand for public transport. Additionally, as lockdown measures are eased, many are questioning how a return to - or an increase in - car use can be avoided. This will be vital to avoid increases in air pollution, emissions and congestion, among other things.

Sustrans is offering support to local authorities in the UK to help them in adapting their transport systems to provide more space for walking and cycling. Making it easier to walk and cycle around towns and cities will be vital in light of reduced public transport and will be key in helping people stay active and healthy during and after lockdown measures.
