Road Safety: London wins PRAISE award for best performing public authority

The award was handed over in Brussels during the PRAISE conference, which was organized by the Eurpean Transport Safety Council (ETSC); presenter was the German Road Safety Council.

During the past years, London made great effort concerning road safety, like investing in a modern fleet, but also worked together with many other institutes and partners, which is said to be key if a city wants to induce change. To Glen Davies, “road safety is not only a specialism, but it is intrinsic to everything that we do”. As a target, London wants to encourage other cities and regions to take the lead themselves and make roads safer, for example by inventing laws as an operative benchmark. Overall, quality should drive improvement in performance and Glen Davies made clear that London won’t rest to go ahead.
